Fulda, 19.12.2019. On the occasion of the last customer survey, JUMO GmbH & Co. KG made a total donation of 5,000 euros available. This sum was then increased by one euro for each questionnaire sent in. The participants in the customer survey had the opportunity to select a charity from five suggestions. 1,500 euros of the total sum collected went to the organisation "Ärzte ohne Grenzen e.V.".
JUMO Marketing Manager Michael Diegelmann explained on the occasion of the donation handover: "According to a report by the WHO and the World Bank, there are still at least 400 million people worldwide who have no access to essential medical services and more than two billion who cannot afford their necessary medicines. 'Ärzte ohne Grenzen e.V.' (Doctors without borders) makes an important contribution to ensuring primary health care in crisis areas worldwide. We are very pleased to be able to support this important work".
The donation was handed over to Brigitte Mähler, an employee of Ärzte ohne Grenzen, who presented the organisation's extensive work and various projects: "Ärzte ohne Grenzen e.V. employs more than 45,000 people worldwide. In 2018 around 140 million euros were invested in projects in 70 countries". This sum was used to support 310,000 births and treat almost 75,000 malnourished children.
"Ärzte ohne Grenzen e.V. convinced us particularly through the high efficiency with which the donations are used," adds Michael Diegelmann. For every euro donated, an average of 89 cents is invested in concrete projects.
