JUMO is delighted to be taking part in this year's InnoTrans, the leading international trade fair for railway and transport technology. The trade fair will take place from 24 to 27 September 2024 in Berlin. JUMO will be represented in the City Cube, Hall A, Stand 240.
Railway technology has been one of JUMO's focus industries for a long time, so the systems and solutions are specially designed to withstand the demanding conditions on rails. EN 50155-compliant, they work precisely and reliably even when exposed to vibrations, strong temperature fluctuations and electromagnetic influences. All the better that the JUMO portfolio covers a comprehensive range of measurands, from temperature and humidity measurement to level determination and pressure monitoring. “These sensors make a significant contribution to increasing safety, efficiency and reliability in rail transport,” says Lars Ronge, Market Segment Manager Transportation at JUMO.
JUMO's temperature sensors continuously monitor the temperature of critical components such as motors, brakes and axle bearings. By detecting overheating at an early stage, maintenance measures can be initiated in good time and unplanned breakdowns can be avoided. This extends the service life of the components and increases operational safety. For example, JUMO will be presenting the JUMO railTEMP, a new generation of wheelset probes, at the trade fair.
Pressure sensors are essential for monitoring and controlling pneumatic and hydraulic systems in railway vehicles. They ensure the safe and reliable functioning of brake pressure systems and monitor the pressure conditions in air conditioning systems and hydraulic lifting systems. The new JUMO hydroTRANS, an intelligent temperature and humidity sensor with optional CO2 module, is also used in the air conditioning of rail vehicles and can be extensively tested at the trade fair stand.
Fill level sensors from JUMO ensure precise monitoring of the liquid levels in various containers and tanks, such as fuel tanks, coolant tanks and waste water tanks. Accurate level measurement ensures that sufficient operating fluids are always available and that maintenance requirements are recognised in good time. This increases the reliability and efficiency of vehicle operation. Examples include the JUMO NESOS R01 LS float switch and the JUMO ZELOS C01 LS capacitive level indicator.
