Mineral-insulated thermocouples are made of a flexible, thin-walled sheath cable in which the thermocouple wires are embedded in compressed fire-resistant magnesium oxide. The good thermal transfer between the sheath and the thermocouple enables short response times and high measuring accuracy.

Mineral-insulated thermocouples

According to DIN 43710 and DIN EN 60584 with bare connection wires Basic type: 901210

Mineral-insulated thermocouples are made of a flexible, thin-walled sheath cable in which the thermocouple wires are embedded in compressed fire-resistant magnesium oxide. The good thermal transfer between the sheath and the thermocouple enables short response times and high measuring accuracy.

Push-in thermocouples with a bayonet fastener are predominantly used for temperature measurement in solid bodies, friction bearings, and tools (e.g. in the plastics industry). The special shape of the probe tip makes these temperature probes suitable for use in flat and pointed drilled holes.

A compression fitting allows mineral-insulated thermocouples for hydrogen applications up to over 1000 bar.

Push-in thermocouples

Push-in thermocouples are predominantly used for temperature measurement in solid bodies (e.g. heating plates and sealing jaws). The compensation cable is relieved of strain at the transition to the protection tube. Bend protection is available as an option.
